Custom Kitchen Review

After searching for months to find a fun, sturdy, easy to assemble kitchen for our granddaughter, we chose the Custom Kitchen by Step 2. I read many reviews of kitchens on the Amazon website and relied heavily on these reviews when making my decision. We wanted storage space for exta "food", pots and pans and utensils which this has with the vegetable bin and silverware drawer. One of the burners "sizzles" if the frying pan is on it or "bubbles and boils" when the stock pot is on it making it very realistic. There is a little light that shines throught the bottom of the pot so it looks like it is really cooking. The cordless phone also makes sounds. The refrigeratior isn't very deep so you can't store much there and the doors are a little tight so when our granddaughter opens something like the fridge or the microwave, the kitchen seems to tip just a little, but overall it is sturdy, and it was very easy to assemble. It only took Grandpa about 45 minutes and we did not hear any blustering coming from the family room! The best part though was how our granddaughter squealed in delight when she walked into the family room on Christmas! She loves this little kitchen and played with it all day long. She cooked and served and chatted on the phone while she was making us "dinner". This was very reasonably priced too, so we added a different set of pots and pans as well as some really nice wooden refrigerator food and fruits and vegetables by Melissa and Doug. These items really made a big difference in her imaginative play. For the money it was a great value and I would highly recommend it.

Nice Kitchen for the money. - Heidi W. -
This is a nice kitchen, lots of fun & very durable but I wish that I had gotten one of the wooden kitchens instead for looks because this kitchen doesn't mesh well in a common area like a kitchen or living room.

danger! - Brian Nortillo -
DANGER....MY 1 YEAR OLD KEEPS OPENING THE OVEN DOOR AND CRAWLING ONTO IT, CAUSING THE ENTIRE UNIT TO FALL ON HIM. NOT VERY SAFE IN THIS INSTANCE. OTHERWISE...GREAT TOY.
